This jar of ground allspice has that warm, pungent kick I was hoping for, and the reddish-brown color tells me it’s fresh. I used a teaspoon in my jerk marinade and the whole kitchen smelled incredible for hours. It’s become my go-to for any dish needing that Jamaican twist.

I ground a few berries this morning for my jerk chicken marinade, and the complex aroma of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg was exactly what I was hoping for—way more pungent than the stale jar I was using before.

The berries are a gorgeous reddish-brown and grind down to a powder that smells exactly like the holidays. Even a tiny pinch gives my curry that warm, woodsy kick I was hoping for. This jar will definitely be a staple in my spice rack.
